Who we are
We’re a family-run company whose Welsh roots are at the heart of all we do. The relationships we have with our clients and the communities where we work mean we often receive recommendations or referrals, which have been fundamental to our continued growth and success.
Across every aspect of our business, we focus on:
- High-quality work
- Outstanding customer care
- Protecting the future
- Building strong communities
The value of a strong team
Our workforce is our greatest asset, and we’re proud to help develop and mentor the craftsmen and women of the future.
When we set up the business in 1991, we had a team of five, two of who were apprentices. Our aim from the start was to create local employment and training opportunities so we could pass on valuable construction skills and give back to our local area.
Today we employ a team of more than 60 people, including some who’ve been with us since day one. However, we know we’re more than those who have Lloyd and Gravell on their payslip. Our suppliers and subcontractors, clients and communities all play an essential part in our success every day.
We make sure we meet the latest standards, regulations and best practices through an ongoing programme of improvement, training and continuous professional development. Wherever we can, we share these opportunities with our subcontractors and suppliers.
Above all, we’re proud of our Welsh heritage—around two-thirds of our team are bi-lingual—and to be contributing to Wales’s future. In recognition of this, we have an annual company holiday on St David’s day.
South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework
We’re delighted to be on the South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework 2020 – 2024 for the west region (Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire) for contracts up to a value of £9 million.

when we won the SME (51-250) category
‘Since joining the Carmarthenshire Framework, this business has been committed to the principles of best practice, particularly in terms of its leadership and development of its people to ensure it delivers a great end product.
It was clear to the judges that there is a clear and continuing commitment to training as the team at Lloyd Gravell see this as not just the future of the business, but an investment for the region.’
