What we did:
The Danybanc and Llundain Fach estates located in Llanelli comprised a mixture of privately owned and local authority, Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC), owned properties. As a result of a comprehensive site appraisal, a series of essential improvement works were identified by CCC across the estate. We were responsible for the co-ordination of further surveys required, completion of the RIBA Stage 3/4 design across all design disciplines and delivery of the Construction phase of the project through RIBA Stages 5 to 7.
The works encompassed a combination of extensive infrastructure upgrades, property repairs, environmental enhancements and energy efficiency improvements.

Works Completed:
- Remedial drainage improvements were undertaken across the site to address existing deficiencies and improve the overall system performance.
- Extensive internal and external repairs/refurbishment.
- External Site Improvement Works.
- Rebuild and repair of existing boundary walls affecting both CCC-owned and privately owned properties. Installation of new fencing where required.
- Landscaping improvements to enhance the visual appearance and functionality of communal spaces.
- Delivery of Retrofitting Dwellings for Improved Energy Efficiency for local authority properties within Danybanc and Llundain Fach. including external wall insulation with a render finish along with PV array installation.
- Street Landscaping Enhancements.
- Implementation of feasible street landscaping improvements at the Danybanc site.
- Resurfacing of existing tarmac roads and footpaths to improve accessibility and safety.
Key things we had to consider:
Ensuring effective health, safety and operational management arrangements were adopted, communicated and regularly monitored due to the contract being completed on a busy residential site. This included material storage, utilities, traffic management for site vehicles, deliveries, visitors and residents. Consider the mixed tenure nature of the estate when planning and implementing works and ensuring disruption to local residents was kept to an absolute minimum. Identify opportunities for additional enhancements, particularly in relation to landscaping and tree planting.
